TITLE OF ACTIVITY : Iron on PCB.
OBJECTIVE : To produce the PCB circuit and allow the next step to be done.
METHODS :
- Prepare : Clothes iron, metal polish solvent and photocopy or software image of circuit image.
- Photocopy the circuit image onto the non-glossy side of a sheet of Iron-On-PCB. the print out must be mirror of the original image.
-Clean copper boards with metal polish solvent
-Place the Sheet face down on the copper clad material and iron it with an iron set halfway between two and three. continue until the copper is hot and the image has gone dark all over.
After cooling the film is peeled away to leave the image. Etching is by the normal method with ferric chloride or ammonium persulfate in a tray or bubble etch tank. And after etching and drying, remove the resist with thinner solvent. the blue resist is removed away leaving the copper circuit tracks.
- Do need to follow the rules because it may just not be as missed a method prescribed. With the instructions provided, then it can be done well.
Analysis :
-Lots to do during the process did work Iron-On-PCB. After obtaining the appropriate schematic concept of the project , list types of components to be used . Make sure the components purchased to work properly , especially components that are expensive, difficult or major components found in the circuit . Then need to use computer software such as Proteus , Eagle , PCB Wizard and so on. This process involves the use of chemicals. need to comply with security measures , rules of use and disposal of chemicals. Etching process is done to remove the copper layer ( copper layer) that is not required on the PCB using liquid etchant . Chemical ferric chloride ( FeCl3) is used to produce a highly corrosive liquid etchant . be careful when handling these chemicals . The duration of this process depends on the solution concentration , solution temperature and the size of the PCB is produced. Once everything is finished , the PCB need to rinse.
CONCLUSION :
- Advantages of this technique to produce large quantities of PCBs for Transparency requires only one mold.
- Must comply with all instructions, manuals and process work carefully to avoid mistakes and loss of PCB damaged or poor quality.
